SSL Certificates - Switching from HTTP to HTTPS

As of 2024, DPG offers free SSL certificates for all newly added domains for accounts on our paid plans.

If you added a domain before this became the default option, you may want to switch your domain to use HTTPS.

To do so, follow these steps:

Go to Hosts

In the DPG admin, navigate to the site that uses the domain you want to secure, and click on the Hosts tab. Next, locate the domain you wish to secure and click on Settings button.

It should currently look something like this, with all DNS values pointing to our non-secure servers. The goal is to notify DPG that you want the domain secured. Once you do, DPG will provide new DNS values for you to enter with your domain provider, which you’ll complete in the next steps.

Enable HTTPS

Click on the Settings tab. From the dropdown menu switch from HTTP to HTTPS. Click Update.

View new DNS values

Now, return to the DNS Settings tab. The expected value has changed for the @ and the www record. These are the values you need to update with your domain registrar.

The verification record will remain unchanged if it was previously entered correctly.

Update DNS records

Now that you have the updated DNS values from DPG, you need to log in to your domain registrar's control panel and update the relevant records there.
